can i reboot without doing a battery pull? help please
Search the forums or Google for "QuickPull." It's free software that will allow you to reboot.
Download an app called quickpull it will simulate a battery pull without you physically doing it.
Soft reset and as mentioned above...quickpull.
I know there's apps out there to do this, and on the devices there are "keyboard shortcuts" to doing it. However, the only true method of rebooting is a battery pull. These other methods I don't believe can do a full system reboot.
it's also build in MeterBerry...
and there's SoftReset, which i used before it was in MB.
Qwickpull pa just like doing a battery pull and is the best method forironing out kinks. Unless one particularly enjoys battery pulls.

As far as I can tell all Quick Pull does is activate the phones own reset feature (like when you uninstall something) so therefore it must be exactly the same as doing a real battery pull
Quickpull.
USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION
I really wish RIM would put in a button shortcut for this. Like Holding ESC (Back button) and Pressing Power for 5 Secs. How hard is that? They already have an instruction set to power off the device if you hold Power down for 5 Secs... put in an added check to see if ESC is being held down and have it trigger a reboot instead of a power off. Am I the only one without blinders here?
Of course you are not the only one without blinders, you are just a little more eloquent.. It should be an option being that rebooting your blackberry is almost (and sometimes is) a daily occurence.
Won't function on my Storm-"error occurred". Uninstalled.
Does anyone know if Quickpull has upgraded to 5.0 yet?
Mine has not been working since the new os.
I tried QuickPull Lite again yesterday; no change. Don't know about the full version though.
Lets move this bad boy to 3rd Party Apps
Think it was Bill who gave us this solution:
##000000 with the SIP password of vzw
Quickpull has been updated to a beta which works on 5.0 by setting all the default permissions to allow.

MeterBerry has been updated to work with 5.0 now, think I read somewhere on here that Quickpull has a beta or is working now too. :D
##000000 send, scroll down and enter vzw for sip password, menu & save and it resets phone.
Yup this is what I do. Quickpull wanting me to set the DEFAULT permissions to allow means they can't write the app correctly and have to rely on the user undermining the phone's security.
Noob question: What does "##000000 send" mean ? Do I do that as an SMS, MMS, Phone# ?
ajf u do it as a phone number. lol. then scroll down to where it says "sip password" and type in vzw. i just tried it for the first time and it works. good lookin out ya'll.
This is great! Thanks for the tip.
Ah ha...Discovered it all by myself......it does work now. What a time saver. ;)
