how to prevent screen activation
- Hi buddies,
In spite of locking the screen, it still comes to life to inform that the screen is locked, if the screen is accidentally pressed. Is there a way to prevent the screen from lighting up (besides stopping the annoying beeps!!) (and stop draining battery) when in holster or pocket? I want the screen to get active only after pressing the unlock button on top.

You can try belt clips with magnets.
You can try leather sleeves with magnets.
I use the leather pouch myself (again, with magnet) on a belt clip. Pressing any of the buttons or the screen while in the pouch still doesn't activate the phone.02-16-09 08:38 PMLike 0 -
Pressing any of the buttons or the screen while in the pouch still doesn't activate the phone.
I'm not saying it gets activated, what I mean is, it glows everytime the screen is clicked accidentally and keeps beeping. I'm seeing if there is a way to put it to sleep (full black screen) and not "wake-up" on touch until the "unlock" key is pushed.
Note that none of the belt clips are "female-friendly". I carry the phone in pocket at present.

When holstered (ie magnets shut screen off) the screen will NOT turn on even when pushed02-16-09 08:54 PMLike 0 - I know, pressing in the pouch still should prevent the screen from glowing.
If you are talking about the phone barenekkid with no holster/pouch, then I'd have to say I'm not sure. I believe it was an option to enter sleep mode with past blackberries. Not sure why they did away with this useful feature.02-16-09 08:55 PMLike 0
