I have BES and I don't have the option. What is the Verizon software that you speak of?

Strange - I guess I'll bite the bullet and reinstall the device OS since it worked for you.

Just reinstalled the device OS from VZ website and I still do NOT have the wireless update option.

For the record, I had platform .82 installed before the attempt.

That's crazy! I have no idea what else the problem might be. Someone out there has to have an answer!

I probably recall Tech Support tomorrow. BTW did you have any OTA updates available once you got the wireless update back?

FWIW, I noticed my Storm box was not re-stickered. I just have the 4.7.0.65 one -- trying to figure out the OTA update mystery

No there weren't any updates available so the theory that it only shows up when there are is incorrect. Mine wasn't restickered either.

The Wireless Update option will ONLY appear if you're connected on BES...NOT BIS...it's a BES-only option. No one in my office had that option until we connected to our BES.

I had the Upgrade option in my Settings. Version v4.7.0.65
    on BIS.

I plugged the device into my computer to transerfer all info from blackberry 8830, and I lost the browser, app store, etc. so I had to do *228 to get everything back but I lost the OTA upgrade process and dont know how to get it back.

A verizon data center employee had their BB update over the air, she said it took about 20 minutes but downloaded it over the air with the option.

And the plot thickens. So far users with both platforms (.76 and .82) have had the wireless update feature missing as well BES and BIS users. Hmm....

I just noticed that every time I run App Loader it wants to upgrade 'Blackberry 4.7 Core Applications' - I have done it three times and doesn't seem to take.

Crisi131 is this happening to you as well?

Yeah, it keeps doing that so I'm just holding off on adding anything else via the desktop manager. My phone is working like a charm now and I don't want to mess it up! I remember it doing something like this to me earlier and that's when I started having problems with the phone.

Final update before I give up for the night. After everything was good again, I realized that I had lost my browser. I went through the Host Routing and reregistered everything and did a battery pull. No joy, so I had to use the device manager again. I got my browser back, kept the .82 platform, but lost that elusive wireless update option! Oh well...I guess I'm back to square one too. However, if I have to chose I'll take the browser over the wireless update any day of the week!!!
