Depends on what kind of features come out on new phones and what not. I've kept a phone for as little as 3 months or a little over a year. Funny thing is I've only ever paid retail for one phone over the past 7 years. There are always ways to work the system.
I'm hesitant to buy expensive phones for the same reason I'm hesitant to buy new cars and don't have any tattoos....I love change too much. I've never kept a cell phone a full 2 yeas....normally get close but not all the way. Gonna have to wait this one out with the storm though but I'll almost definitely upgrade after 2 years (1 year 10 months with vzw) as there will be something better out. I'll stick with BlackBerry though as long as I'm with VzW
longest was year and a half with my enV, but after 8 months i start itching for the latest and greatest haha so yeah usually 8 months to a year is my average

I'm old school, "use it up, wear it out". The only reason I dumped my 3 year old quasi-smart LG flip was 'cuz I switched to T-Mo. It only had a VGA camera, so I might have upgraded after the 4th year.
Now that I'm addicted to my BB, I'll keep it "'til death do us part, so help me God".
I love the latest and greatest smartphones. I bought the curve last may and loved it but had to get the storm in Nov and learned to love it. We go crazy thinking about the perfect case or screen protector, but why? Unless we are passing it down to our grandchildren one day, we will probably become tired of it before it gets too many scratches or dings.
So how about you. How long do you keep your phones?
i just keep till contract expires then get the newest phone
I normally make it a year before getting bored. The Storm is my first BB and I believe I have found the first phone I will keep thru my contract and maybe beyond.
