I'm in Manhattan and went to the 42nd St store, but they were sold out. So I ventured over to the Union Sq store and I waited for 6 hrs. Of course I never in a million years thought it would take that long (there were about 60 people ahead of me - appx 30 inside and 30 outside). BUT worth the wait!!!
I got to my local store (S. Burlington, VT) around 7:50. I was #16 in line and waited outside for 10 minutes for them to open the door and sign us all in. They called my name around 11am, and I got my Storm activated and left around 12pm.
Waiting in line: 10 minutes
Waiting in general: 3 hours
I got to the store at 6:50AM, waited in the car until 7:15AM, was #4 in line when everyone got out of their vehicles, and was home and setting up my Storm around 8:40AM.
I had to work all day, but I had one on pre - order at bestbuy. Got to best buy at 9:15pm. Walked out at 9:30pm. Then the next day i found out my local walmart where a friend of mine works in connections still had the two they got in. I thought damn. . I could have saved some gas.
I'm from IN but was in Buffalo, NY for a funeral. Showed up at Cheekawanga VZW store 0900 and was told all Storms were already promised but if a gentleman didn't show up at 1030 hrs. I could have it. 1020 I got my Storm and it took till 1130 to switch and program due to the network being overwhelmed. LOVE IT!!

Fortunately most of us at the location in Michigan stayed in our cars until 7:30 or so, then when one of us went, we all went. Stood outside for about 5 minutes until the manager came out and gave out tickets, and then back in our cars we went until 8. Actually quite a pleasant experience considering it was 18 degrees with a 7 degree windchill.
An hour outside in my car and then 50 minutes inside the store getting the Storm activated and such. I was third in line at the Mechanicsville, VA VZW store.
My local store said they would open at 7am for the launch so I decided to show up at 6:30am only to find that they were already open. Apparently they opened at 6am and had already sold 10 phones by time I arrived.
Luckily for me I didn't have to wait and walked right in and pick up one. Other than the 15 mins of the sales person trying to hustle me for some accessories I was in and out.
None. Unless you count how long it took to exchange my Voyager and get the Storm active and working.
I went on friday after work (about 3pm) and they were out. They only got 20 units. They said they were bringing more over from another store on saturday so if I was there by 930am I would get one. Got to store at 9am, walked right in, right to counter, they went to back and grabbed it.
There was a guy in there I was talking to that got his on friday and he was there at 3am. I just dont have time or will to wait like that anymore for anything.
I didnt wait, ordered mine first thing in the morning, got it Saturday delivery, I LOVE IT great device so far, cant wait till all the little bugs are fixed
