    Hi

I wonder if there is any way to reboot a Storm 2 as I can boot a Bold with Alt+Shift+Del?
Or is it only to remove battery which does the magic?

From the phone app, dial ##000000 (send), then scroll halfway down the screen and type "vzw" in the password space and save. Phone will reboot.

Or use a third party app, such ad quickpull, quicklaunch, or meterberry to do a reboot.

    Hm.

Tried to dial ##000000, but didn't find any "send"... Tried to call out, but didn't find the screen to type the password.

But I don't think I can use a third party app, because I'm a BES Admin (newbie) and we don't allow third party apps on the phone.

Is not only on my phone I want to do this, but if someone has problems I want to reboot the phone, it would be nice to do this without remove the battery.

Have a look at VersatileMonkey.com - BlackBerry software including PodTrapper, the podcast manager | VersatileMonkey.com - their VersaTool has a reboot option, which can be scheduled (works better than Quickpull) or just run when you feel like it.

(I know I've mentioned this app a couple of times recently - I'm in no way affilliated with VM, I just love the guy's work!)

its not a "send" word, its a icon.
    step: 1. dial ##000000, then select "call/send"
step: 2. Scroll down to "SIP Password" and type vzw then select the "enter/go key" using your virtual keypad.

The instructions above worked very well except the "enter/go" key did not do the trick for me. I had to go to "menu" and "save" after typing vzw and the phone rebooted.

Thx again, but I can't scroll anywhere when I have selected call, so I can't find "SIP Password" to type vzw...
Tried to push the menu botton, but no "SIP Password", nether in the screen when I have pushed Call

I maybe wrong, but I believe the reboot sequence above is for verizon customers only on 9550 and not 9520 phones. The reboot sequence is most likely different on the Vodafone or similar.

Well as far as I know quickpull and ##000000 are softresets, and alt+cap+del and batt pulls (physical batt pulls) are hard resets. Now since the S1 and s2 do not have real keyboards you only solution is to temporarily remove the battery. But for just plain resets quickpull should do the trick, plus its free. I only do hard resets after loading a new OS. You can get quickpull through Steelhorn.com or app world. Good luck

Is there a real difference in doing a reset from MeterBerry or pulling the battery? Is one better than the other?

Supposedly soft resets just reload all apps. While hard resets clear the memory. That's what I understood

Good Grief all this complicated stuff... Just download "Quick Pull Free" and you are done! I have never had a problem with it on the Storm2.
