OTA means "Over-The-Air" and is in the form of .jad (ending in).
Apps can be either free or purchasable. They can be downloaded either in OTA format or through your computer's DM (Desktop Manager) which is a program found at Blackberry.com (or included CD) that you install onto your computer. The DM allows you to backup your cell info like contacts, customizations and preferences onto your computer and also can be used to install/remove apps to your phone. The format for apps installed through DM end in .ALX. (accompanied by a .COD).
To install via OTA, go the site with the link in OTA format using your phone browser and just click the link! Allow preferences.
To install via DM, save the app prompts to your computer, open DM, go to Install/Remove, browse computer for prompt, select the .ALX prompt and click the finished button.
The following link is a great place to start customizing your Storm. Access it using your Storm's browser. If you see something you like, click on the link and it will automatically start the download process. There is a free and paid section.

Yep, easiest way I found: open the link from your computer, it will pull up the OTA thread, then take the address and copy it, email it to any account you access from your Storm. There ya go, check the email and open the link, it will take you to the OTA thread via your Storm's browser.
