It charges from the usb while playing. I can leave it there
all day and it stays charged.

I had to use the nav today with my set up and it was awesome. just like a real nav unit.
I have a Pioneer head unit with bluetooth support. I couldn't possibly say enough great things about Pioneer head units in general, but the bluetooth units are the cat's meow. Not only does it work with the storm bluetooth for stereo support, but you can also plug in 3.5mm stereo cables for media devices that don't have bluetooth. And if that's not enough you can get the iPod cable to operate and charge your iPod. We have 4 iPod Classics with about 250 GB combined (so far) of music, so I have the iPod interface cable installed and use that for the long trips. I keep the Storm ready with about 500 songs that I use for local runs and I run that off the bluetooth connection. It's simple, effective, and awesome!
I have pioneer radio similar to mightyjohn's - it has a USB port that allows iPod control from the front of the radio...or any USB memory dealie...including the Storm. But I just leave my iPod attached and the only music I play through the Storm is with Slacker, for which I just use the 3.5 mm Aux input.

I really wish slacker would play through the usb. That would be awesome.

Best bet is to get a head with usb. if it was me i would get one that has the usb port on the back so you can have a nice clean install with no wires showing.
mightyjohn that's a real nice install. i'm currently working on the same thing only i'm trying to mold the dock into my dash.
I'm using a Kenwood 232 in my big truck paired with a Parrot MK6000 bluetooth unit and it sounds phenomenal, and this is not exactly the best audio environment. 18 wheelers are loud. Pair it with a Bury cradle and you have a perfect solution with no wires. Just pick up the phone when you need to change something. Eyes barely leave the road. I noticed barely any difference in sound between using the bluetooth with the Parrot and plugging directly into the stereo. Avoid the Motorola T605 bluetooth setup at all costs though. It is quite possibly the main reason bluetooth A2DP has such a bad rap. Horrible on a good day. My buddy does something similar with a Pioneer that has the bluetooth built in to it, but it was quite a bit more expensive and call quality is bad because the mic is in the dash instead of located where it can pick up voices good. Sounds nice though.
i have a monster cable fm modulator...plugs into cig. lighter and headphone jack.works great for me.
