    I dont think that date code on the outside is accurate.. Mine states todays date.. Pretty good.. they built it today and I got it today..
    LOL Verizon probably has people making new stickers with the revised dates just to fool us. My new one is due tomorrow will see what FedEx brings this time.

    I received my 2nd replacement last night. Both didn't not have the fix. They came in the white certified like new box with January dates. What I don't get is if they were supposedly recalled, how are these still being shipped?

    Verizon shipped out #3 this morning with a tomorrow by 10:30am delivery.

    Everyone raise their hands that #3 is the charm.....Hmmm no hands raised?

    I bought the Phone off somebody else as I did not want to use up my upgrade for the Storm2 as I did not know if I was going to like it. Apparently, RIM or Verizon does not warranty 2nd owner even though phone about 3 months old. I had to drop my insurance off too as they will not warranty any phones bought off friends and such!
    Yeah, I know that's the truth. My fiance always got my old BBs and I had to argue with VZW to put the insurance on it after the guy I know left working for them. They said that Asurion won't let them insure used phones even if VZW checks it out and it passes their inspection.

    I clearly told the C/S rep on Sunday NOT TO SHIP a handset at all if the did not have any with Mfg dates later than Feb 22nd. He said he stated that in the shipping instructions, Will see.

    I'm on the phone with VZW now...I am going to see if I can just get a DROID. I'm fed up with all of this. I've had 4 Storm1s, 3 Tours, and now 3 Storm2s. Maybe I can just get a DROID for free and keep that and my Tour...

    btw, the refurb centers im sure have alot of stock, the memo didnt ask them to be returned either, just for the current new storms at the VZW stores to send those back. And there is no verification that Telus got this notice either.

    I got a replacement from my insurance(brand new) the bottom keys don't work sometimes so they are going to send me another...is there a way I can get the one with the new fix from them

    I have a new Storm2 on the way for Thursday. If it's not a new hardware revision, I am marching into the store and demanding a DROID lol

    Got my 1st refurb since I bought my S2 two months ago. The date code on the replacement is older than the original phone. 3 digit code on refurbished phone was ZA9. No date code on either between pin and assembly point. The refurbished phone came from New Breed DTV and had a small round sticker in it that had an NB 1/10 that showed it was tested in January. White box it came in was green dotted but I doubt this one was upgraded even though the CS rep assured me it was as per VZW policy. Guess I'll try again without even activating this one.

    you dont need to activate it. Just power it on and test it out to see how the button are.

    I think its great. Maybe Verizon and RIM will finally realize they have a problem and do something about it. With all these Storms being returned including Refurbs it has to draw the attention of someone at both Companies. It also sends a firm message that we are not going to accept any old crap handset they send out. Verizon and RIM will have a very busy six months ahead exchanging and refurbing all these handsets, Its great carma for RIM and Verizon. I have all the time in the world to go through every phone in Verizons inventory and I will if I have to. Im very disappointed with both Verizon and RIM and the more $ I cost them both in FedEx fees and returned handsets the better!

    And here comes the Droid. Brand New in Box. You should have seen the one they sent me, I actually took it to the verizon store so they wouldnt think i was nuts. The one they sent me look like a dog ate it on the bottom, and of course it was the old screen. So they sent me the droid brand new! I still have my tour! So I am done with storm2s, my wife has the storm 1. Now only to get used to the new android OS!

    Call customer service and explained the problem and they were willing to swap it out if I went to the store...so I'm at the store and they tell me they can't do it b/c it was from the insurance company and I need to talk to them. They call customer service and hand me the phone...the rep tells me some bull about they don't send out replacements technical supports does tht so I ask to speak to the manager and he says "what for" I say can I speak to the manager or not...so after being on hold for 15 mins they hung up on me! I left the store pissed and calld back customer service and let them have it! This rep was the best...he understood my problem and is sending me a replacement by tomorrow. Ps the rep told me that the store rep said in her notes that I hung up the phone...BULL!

    Hang in there they have to keep swapping the units out under the terms of the warranty. It looks like they are starting to take notice this is GOOD! That facility in Fort Worth Tx must be abuzz with Storm2 returns about now. Maybe they will start checking the handsets over before shipping any old piece of garbage.

    So anyone close to Springfield IL that wants an otterbox defender, i have one on my storm2 that is awaiting the droid and i have one new in the box! give em to you both for 25 bucks!

    PS I made Verizon send me a holster for the droid since i spent 80 bucks protecting my storm2, I only think thats fair.

    Well, it came with a dead battery... so I"m charging it up right now, but overall the hardware looks MUCH improved from the S2 I'm using now.

    Will talk about the "click" as soon as it gets battery and I can actually click the screen, haha

    Well I'm on try #3 with replacements, first one was wrong. 2nd one (the one I have now) Sounds terrible and the screen is seperating from the bottom doesn't click or clicks to easily damn inconsistency. So have my 3rd tomorrow. PRAYING REAL HARD IT WORKS!!!

    Coming from Fort Worth TX as well.
