did you unplug it prematurely? when it's restarting during the upgrade it can take a long time. Typical upgrade times range between 20 and 90 minutes

oooh ouch, I hate to say it but I'm afraid it may have been nuked. You may want to get reading on this article:

BlackBerry 101: How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com

What happened prior to this? Anything odd? Running Windows 7?

no i am using xp and what does it mean i got nuked? i am thinking of going outside and just throwing it on the ground and letting my warranty kick in if it does'nt work.

Means the install went bad. It's a risk of doing any kind of major change to the OS. And don't do that, any physical damage is not a warranty. And if you have insurance it's a $50 deductible. Either way you'll just be screwing yourself more. How long have you had it for? If it's less than 30 days, then you could go to VZW and claim you dont know what happened, etc and get another new one. If it's over 30 days you will get a refurb, so that's up to you. Recovering from a bad install isn't too hard, just read that article I linked you above.

Just don't tell them what you were doing, and that you don't know what happened. They won't be able to tell.

lol, once you get used to the storm you'll love it i'm sure. Don't worry, you just got unlucky. I've never had it happen to me, but there are people who do, which is why that article is there. As long as it's not too bad I don't think you'll have a problem.

Its simple! Look direct to the screen, i know its dark, but is there a tiny bar with "Unable to create..."? If not, google "JLCmd", download and install. Connect your NukeBerry to your PC, open "JLCmd" if your Berry is protected, press Y, if not, N; then press 4 for wiping, then you can reload your OS "same procedure as every year "!!!

If this tiny bar is there, connect your BrickBerry to your PC, open AppLoader and keep clicking Load new OS (Firmware aktualisieren in german) as long as DM sees your phone. Than you can reload.
