Lately when I'm searching the internet or even in a menu, the screen thinks I'm touching somewhere else, and even opens the stupid highlighting boxes. Its very frustrating and don't know what to do. Do you think the high humidity could of caused water damage?

Probably not water damage. on mine its as if there needs to be some recalibration of the touchscreen when the humidity changes and a reboot (batter pull) seems to do it. just a hassle to have to wait for the reboot to complete.
I don't know if such a thing is possible, but that's just my conjecture on how mine is behaving. Once it gets that way, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to break it out of constant select mode, until I do a battery pull, then it will work normally. It's as if there is some recalibration at boot time. I don't really know what the cause and cure are. I do know that it's really frustrating.
If its really bad, and you have the insurance on the thing, then take it in to a VZW store.
