Good Question... You could always back up current and try it. Nothing to lose. I would say yes.

There is an app switch wizard in DM. It will guide you what to do.

I believe that it will work. After looking in the alx file for the backup of my 3rd apps, there is no difference in it than the separate alx files for each of the apps besides the name of the alx file.
