I'm hoping someone can help. I was running .86 and decided to try my luck with .90. All other upgrades since .65 have gone smoothly. I followed the instructions. Backed up. Backed up Apps. Wiped. Loaded new O/S. Recovered apps backup. Ready for regular backup restore but it stops saying I have a communication error. I've pulled the battery. Rebooted the laptop. Cleared the almost empty browser memory.... Any ideas? Don? Crucial?

Have you enabled Mass Storage Mode. I think that is necessary to backup/restore from DM. Check Option/Memory and make sure you have Mass Storage Mode Support "On". Also make sure Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected is on "Yes" or "Prompt". If you select "Prompt" then when you connect your device to your PC, you will be prompted to enable MSM. I hope that helps.

I had MSMS on but "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode" was off.
Thanks! That seems to be doing the trick.
