What OS are you using? Vista?
yes vista is that a problem?
Yes I had the same issue, tried the same upgrade on XP machine and it worked like a charm.
The best way to do this is to run loader.exe from the apploader folder. Do a quick search in the forums. Plenty of help here.

I just updated with Vista yesterday without any issues. Make sure you follow the instructions listed here and you should be ok.

Try doing the upgrade from the AppLoader in the RIM folder. Delete any Vendor XML documents and disconnect from the internet. Should work this way.
I have had users her with that problem and it always seems to be related to the installation path, I had users change the default path and DM would not find it so check to be sure to loader files are in 'Program Files' - 'Common Files' (not sure where they belong in Vista?).
I concur, I have done all my leak updates on Vista with no problems.
The instructions below do work!
I second this. Don't blame Vista, worked perfectly for me on 2 different machines.
I do all my updates with Vista no problem
but will try my other XP box just to see. Thanks
ok this is the path on vista I think.
(((C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9530-v4.7.0.109_P4.0.0.136)))
What .ALX file is it?
Ok this worked. Thanks
That was fun. Not...
I almost tanked my storm
strange stuff I have many os updates for my storm and other BB on my vista that is the first that went way wrong. Also this is the first time I did a backup before doing the update and I sure am glad I did or all would have been lost. But I did a restore and all is back and my VER is now 1.09
Uploaded today using Vista and worked great.
