Desktop manager keeps stopping at connecting to device or connecting to jvm when i try to update my storm to the new os. any reason why and any ideas on how to fix this?

how long did you let it sit there? when i did it, mine took about 15 - 20 minutes to reboot then it connected and started to update

about 5 to 10 minutes. but i mean like the process bar or whatever you want to call it didnt move at all. or could it be that the phone is unlock and won't let me update it

Is the screen white? Chances are you need to let it go longer. Try waiting 20-30 minutes and see if you see a progress bar or clock(hourglass)

no i only shows bedside mode. so i should just let it sit there and wait?

Wait longer. It spends a pretty substantial time connecting to the device.
