Having a touch screen problem that clicks in a different place than i do

Hello for the past few days my storm 2 running on .607 has had a problem with responding to my touch across the screen

On the home screen in portrait mode when i try to click on the 3rd square across my screen which is my phone sometimes it would light up my media icon which is beside it to the right. When i am scrolling on a website it would just jump around or randomly highlight text as i am scrolling down. Looking through old emails and messages it randomly highlights them. Basically sometimes when i touch the screen it gets touched in another area causing it to do different things depending on what i am doing.

I have tried doing battery pulls with no luck it always reverts back and the problem occurs again.

I dont actually know what the problem is called and i have tried my best looking on cb for a fix but have turned up nothing

I am not sure whether to send it back to rim or if i can fix this problem myself

Does this happen when using one hand and not two? The reason I ask is that sometimes when I am using one hand and reach across the screen to click something, the padded part of my hand below my thumb sometimes hits another icon and messes me up.

Is your fingers completely dry? The screen tends to screw up a lot if it's hot and your fingers get a little sweaty.

Did this just happen after installing .607? Maybe you can downgrade or try another phone in a store and see if it still happens. If it only happens on your phone, I would exchange it if you can

yes my fingers are completely dry and no this happened a few weeks after installing .607
when i first bought a storm 2 i had to replace the first 1 i got because of a similar issue which occured right after i got it
this time i took much longer to happen

Mine started doing the same thing on a different OS (517/604 hybrid). I had it replaced with a new one. It just started doing it after a couple of weeks and I was still within my 30 days.

Is there anything else because i am passed my 30 days

Also would it help if i did a complete wipe then reinstalled .607 i am not sure if this error is physical or not so im not sure this would do a thing

I don't know but I really hated .607 and many people have had problems with it.

Do you have stoptilt or anything like that installed?

no i dont have that one installed and i dont think i have anything like that installed

can anyone help?

Try playing with the sensitivity settings.
