ok i went into my alerts and hit silence, but there still coming out as the alert i set for them?? is there someplace else iam missing to silence these???
What OS are you using? I used to have this problem on .65 and .75 and I had to create a custom profile. But when I installed .85 I didn't have the problem anymore and with .86 now it still isn't a problem.

Just create your own custom profile with everything silent and it should work. Be sure to include all alerts and notifications associated with applications on your phone.
Just click the volume button on the upper left of your home screen. At the bottom of the menu you should see an option for custom profiles. Hope that helps.
I am also a new BB user. I had one 5 years ago but only for a short time. I have had many palm and window operating phones over the years. It was a change, but I am loving it. I know this device will only get better with time!
