How come this device lags so much and doesn't have much application space? I love the phone but it lags a lot. Any ideas on how to prevent this?

There are a few posts there on how to increase you initial memory so it doesn't leak as fast. Updating to a new OS may fix a lot of the leaking issues. Also some themes and apps will cause the memory to drain faster. Rim only designed the S1 with 128MB internal memory and the Os takes up like 70MB's+ of it so there isn't much else but to remove things like VZNAV and the other apps you may not use.
