So my hubby managed to find a Storm for me on Christmas Eve and I had it on Christmas morning! So far I'm loving it. I'm with Telus and I have a couple of questions - the box has a SIM card in it. What do I do with this? Do I just need it for roaming?

Also it says I'm supposed to be in a 3G coverage area, but it always says 1XEV on my display. If I put the SIM card in, would it then say I was in 3G (Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I don't know if they are connected??).

SIM is for overseas usage.
1XEV is 3G - 3G shows up overseas.

You are in 3g when it says 1XEV its the same thing.

The SIM card is for international travel, just hold onto it. 1XEV is the Telus 3G network, you are fine with that. Enjoy your storm

I was sure I wasn't getting a storm for xmas even though I've been bugging my hubby for one for a month now. He already went and looked the week before xmas in Ottawa with no luck. Then we go to Kingston on Christmas Eve and he finds one!

1XEV is 3G on a CDMA network
3G will show 3G when you are on GSM networks
