Does anyone know how to make google maps more precise? Before I upgraded to the 5.0 OS, it had my location down to "within 7 meters." Now (and I dont know if the 5.0 OS has anything to do with it) the closest location I can get is 1200 meters. Any suggestions?

Yes you need to check your GPS Settings. If its saying 1200 meters that means its using cell towers to find your location, not your GPS.
Options > advanced options > GPS >
GPS Services: Location On
Location Aiding: Enabled
Make sure you also download the newest version of google maps.
It finds your location a lot faster than the previous version.
