GMail Scrolling Question

I upgraded to the storm a couple of weeks ago, and am still playing around with getting the apps setup. One of my major annoyances was that GMail wouldn't work in landscape. I found that I could turn off 'compatibility mode', and it would. However when I turn off compatibility mode, I can no longer scroll through my email list (where you select the email you want to read). Yesterday I upgraded to .109, but I didn't know about compatibility mode until after the upgrade, so I have no idea how it functioned in the previous version. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
