Actually, that would be pretty slick. Being able to set GPS coordinates and choosing different ring tones according to those coordinates or even allowing the phone to be turned to silent when in a certain range of a GPS coordinate.
I like this idea! It's too bad everyone else has shot it down thus far.
Though, I wasn't aware that the G1 and iPhone had this capability.
lol... as lazy as it sounds...that does sound kind of cool...that way when I'm at the office it automatically changes to a more appropriate ring tone... in case I forget to change it and the phone starts ringing "I like big butts" while I'm with clients...lol
are iphone people that lazy that they can't change the volume themselves? jeez
isn't technology all about helping us be lazy. I mean you don't even need a storm or any phone. You could write a letter and get on your horse and gallop your way to the recipient.
the main reason i like it is because if I'm at work and i forget to change my ring tone to vibrate then a client might hear "Too Short - Blow Job Betty" play when one of my girls call.
Back to topic, there is an app that automatically changes your profile based on time of day. I believe this would be more battery efficient than running GPS all day.

I think he is mistaken on it being GPS based. On Windows Mobile SPB makes one that can be done base on time of time which kicks it to or what ever mode you want. I never used. I guess that my laziness has not set in to not check my phone when I go to a location where ringing out loud is polite.
