Hey guys i just got my storm in the mail today and i have a problem! when i first tried to power on my phone i got nothing. i then plugged my charger into the phone and i got a red led light and then the screen brightened a little and i was given a picture of a battery and a "/" through the battery. can anyone tell me what this means? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! thank you!
Is there a battery in the device? Otherwise it probably just means the battery is dead. Give to 20 or so minutes and you'll probably be able to power it up.
are you sure you put the battery in the right way?
That happened to me too and it was because i didn't put the battery in...oops I freaked out for a second...
I didn't see the battery at first so I thought it was in there. That was the same thing that I got even with it charged in. The battery must not be in the right way. Or maybe your battery is a dud.
Either bad contacts on the battery or simply a bad battery. Walk into a VZW store and ask them to replace your battery. They should be able to do it on the spot at no charge.
Let it charge for a about an hour and see if that makes a difference. I couple of times I have let my battery completely die and I get that for an hour or so because the batter is so dead.
Like the other post said the battery is just dead. This has happened to me with the Storm and the 8830. Leave the phone alone for a bit and the light will go away and you will be able to turn on the phone.

So even though they don't actually have the storm in stock they will have the battery's?
Also, you should probably let it charge for a while. If there is little to no juice in the battery, it will not turn on until it reaches 5% battery capacity...
