Well if he does mean flash it to work on sprint then there really shouldnt be any issue. both are CDMA carriers so if you could get an unlocked unit from verizon (good luck on that) sprint may activate it.. heck they are hurting for customers...

ok. everyone is saying probly not, or no, but does anyone know why?
they are both cdma networks. and since you can unlock gsm to gsm, then why in theory could you not flash cdma to cdma?

different radios, plus it is a federal requirment for manufactures to go gsm to gsm. as far as i know, have read the law, cdma is not included in legislation because cdma is not a global platform.

Question is, why you would want to use Sprint? I've been looking for a good reason to ditch them and the storm(on the network) looks like my ticket out.

sprint will not activate any phone that does not have their logo on it. and even if you tried over the phone they would know by the esn.

it would work because the storm has a sim slot and att uses sim cards. sprint does not

Ok, my question is for pure technical purpose, in any way shape or form I do not encourage illegal stuff like ESN cloning:

What if you buy a used 8830 Sprint with a clean ESN, then you flash the Blackberry Storm to Sprint with the latest PRL and change the Storm's ESN to the one that's on the 8830 and then input the Sprint service books using CrackUtil in the Storm ? Is it posible ? Anyone tried?

Once again, I am asking this question just out of technical curiosity, not doing or planing to do anything mentioned above. Thanks

    Technically, it is possible...

Although, from my work with CDMA Workshop and QPST it's a pain to change the ESN on a Blackberry. You'd also have issues with the PIN as well, since those are also attached to each carrier.

I've had a Verizon Tour work on Sprint before tho.
