One little screenshot of the About screen can put this all to rest right now, LOL.
Yes, I wonder with all the shots that are out there now, why leave the about screen out? Can always "black out" any incriminating info.

Its the same pig, just a new shade of lipstick. Don't be fooled by this wolf in sheeps clothing, it is the most unholy, un-user friendly smartphone in the history of smartphones. The fact that blackberry is going to do it a second time only proves that they are committed to having passed off customers. As I said in another post, having a blackberry without a keyboard is like having an ipod without a scroll wheel. This phone can blow me!

But I'm still sticking to my 9520 theory until proven otherwise.
If the Storm 2 is suppose to have a higher MP count for its camera then the 3.2 on this one would indicate your theory is accurate.

Well the 9530 has a SIM card slot and we all know its CDMA, the SIM is for use overseas where CDMA doesn't exist. So the fact that this Storm has a SIM slot doesn't necessarily mean that it is GSM only. There could be a CDMA radio in there as well.
What i meant was....since the pics in engadget's first post are described as GSM, perhaps we are looking at pictures of two different devices. He hasn't changed that to say it's CDMA. Engadget would know since they have an exclusive set of other pics. Or......maybe he just made a mistake calling it GSM and hasn't changed it yet.

Ah, I see. Perhaps VZW will get one of these in addition to a GSM carrier. To use the 83XX example again, ATT had the 8300 and also got the 8310 not long after. This could go on VZW and possibly replace the 9530 as we know it.

OK, bottom line on this whole CDMA/GSM BS... the 9500 and 9530 are the same damn phone inside and out. The model branding is controlled by low level software (lower then OS that is). So, regardless of this is GSM or not... it's most likely both, depending on branding.

we'll already have an OS by the time the storm 2 is released...by quite a bit of time between the two events too, i'd say.

you've already said this in another thread. are you using your copy/paste function that is natively available with the software the device shipped with?

We know it's the same thing. The thing is that if it is purely GSM...it brings hope that it'll come to our carriers and we won't have to get it unlocked. All of this talk is about speculation of what carrier this is going to.

You people are killing me with all the "this better be a Verizon phone" talk. I'm on ATT and we deserve a Storm. We could all be pissed the 9630 is a better Bold and we are not getting it but you don't here that talk too much.

This phone will most likely be a GSM phone and this is most likely the 9520 just revamped. We will be getting it on ATT and people on Verizon will have to ***** and moan they don't have it. It just the way RIM goes to market. Just follow their device intros all the way back to the 8800 series. The only universal devices they have had are the Pearl and Curve.

If you don't like a bb without a keyboard, there are plenty of bbs with a keyboard and they are awesome. But I can guarantee you that many people feel and think otherwise. I love storm that its touch and has a huge screen. If there was not storm at all, I would choose a bb with a keyboard but with bigger screen. People choose a phone based on needs and likes. Its always great to have a good selection. I am actually looking forward to storm2. It looks great on pictures.

Not a fan of the "chrome" esque material they have on the sides would be happier with the brushed metal look at that is on the back on the sides where that ****ty chrome stuff is..

Looks cool no buttons but the black area where the screen ends and the buttons are looks too big..

The big question is will it function... There is a long list of improvements they should have in there but did they do it..

Yeah I figured as much, civic just threw me off a bit saying that the 9500 and 9530 are exactly the same except for branding.

I guess it's not GSM. It's settled then.

I agree. The lack of a keyboard makes the Storm unique...at least for a Blackberry. I love the huge screen. I love to see my applications and my pictures take advantage of the extra space.

To be honest I don't see whole heck of a lot of difference between the Storm and Storm 2. It seems most of it is internal, which would be exellent. If they can fix the operating system, get the click-it key pad down, and make texting easier, I think the Storm 2 would be a success.

I don't see myself running out to get one at launch this time, as I am pretty happy with my Storm. My wife on the other hand is itching to get something new. She's still sporting the BB 8830. It would be cool if they had Storm 2 in different colors though.

And they are. When I say branding, I mean the low level software that controls which features are enabled or disabled... I'm pretty sure I pointed this out in that post.
