9530 on T-Mobile about 3 months now, love it.

Today I get Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
    select ok

later get another net_rim_bb_messager_app (something) and can't access any SMS or email (message folder).

When trying to connect to Desktop manager . device not connected.

    What should I try first?

Can't backup to prepare for wipe.

Nothing on it is more valuable than the utility of the device.

    Thanks

    -Mike

Have you tried resending the service books and doing a hard reset?

Yes and Yes, as well as a diagnostics Run (which really told me nothing)

Re Registered, Re sent service books, battery pulled (if this is the 'hard reset' to which you refer?)

Can't get past the Jave exception on boot up...
    Can't access emails or SMS.

    At least it's not bricked....yet....

    How can I wipe it?
Which OS should I load? (directions for this I have found)

    HELP!!!

Everyone has different opinions about that. I suggest you try several OS and figure out which one is right for you.

    Intellisync Warning

Failed to connect to the device. Make sure the device is properly connected and try again.

HOW do I get past this?

Cleared browser cache and it still won't connect to DM v4.7
Can't backup (and am about to say don't care!)

Just want it functional again. It's currently showing 128 email (or messages) on the home screen and it's driving me nuts; messages and SMS can't be accessed without the warning in post one.

Can it be wiped and a new OS loaded some other way?

(can't post URL's due to low post count, but shouldn't be hard to figure out)
