    Okay, you can hunt-and-peck to dial 1-800-2 3 7 8 2 8 9, and I'll just type in 1-800- B-E-S-T-B-U-Y
(I know, you were just kidding)

That's actually really nice. That's probably been my only "wish" with my 8800 when I'm dialing into a switchboard environment and have to "dial by name" ...trying to memorize letter-to-number pad positions...

You know when you dial a number with a name you can actually just spell the name with your keyboard and the blackberry does the dialing for you. Just a heads up i just figured this out a couple days ago! lol

Yea it was mentioned by KevinB and the Storm UK site posted yesterday that it has the option of SureType and Multi-Tap (T9) in portrait mode.

I took a photo of a Plain Old Telephone keypad, so when I have to spell out a number I just call up the photo.

This has actually been one of my little pet peeves about BB's for a while now.
Good to see they fixed it.

Dialing with letters has been available for a while now. i can do it with my 8703. you can spell a phone number and the bb will dial the corresponding numbers.

Spell out the words on the keyboard.

Geebus, I can't believe how many people still don't know you can do this. I run into people every day that don't know you can do this. Read the manual people!!!

You need to hit the Alt key before pressing the letter b and so on

Don't worry. Check out Blackberry 101(above post has link). you will find the how-to there.

EDIT: Never mind (me late). But Blackberry 101 has some great info/tips. Check it out if you haven't done so!

Holding down ALT makes it easier instead of press and then letter and press and then letter, etc.

It really is a nice way to dial. Makes it quicker too.

Yes, but that doesn't work when you go into a menu system that asks you to spell someone's name, etc. There are also sometimes that it is near impossible to type out the name for some reason because of bugs in the input programming.
