Well do you two together use over 700 minutes now?

and do you even use the Friends and Family feature? Because if you have never used over 700 minutes before that feature you have nothing to worry about and you can just change your plan.

They are just trying to upsell to you lmao

Well since you used only 450 before Friends and Family came out what is the problem? You would still be using on average around 450 and would probably lower your plan by a nice chunk.

This feature/option has only been out for a week. Do you mean Verizon to Verizon people calls? Because you still get those for free no matter what plan you are on.

I think you're thinking of mobile-to-mobile, you would still get that.

This new friends and family feature just came out like last week.

*edit* damn, lyoko37 beat me to it!

dunno, do you use that many mins?

you really cant save much more money though unless you lose some minutes.

your data and messaging plans make up $100/month which you cant do much for unless you want to consider the $10/month messaging plan thats 500 messages/month and unlimited in text/pix. with the BB you can always use gchat, aim or bbm to send messages for free.

otherwise, you're stuck. if you need the 10 friends and family numbers you cant drop your minutes. dunno what to say. having to up minutes to get free minutes seems redundant, but its how they make more money :/

I'm guessing you have the Select Family Share plan so for your minutes / texting you pay 119. The 700 minute plan you will pay 99 so you are still looking at like 170 or 180 bill after the two Storm data packages + taxes

ok let me explain better before we don't use friends option because I have a plan with at&t but my plan expires now we need those min for verizon line but using this option we not going to use more than 400 min on the month but if we don't have it we need probably like 1700 to 2000 min

Ok well than I suggest you just keep paying what you are paying. The plan you have works fine for that.

Won't you be saving a lot of money by dropping the AT&T account anyway?

The commercials say any plan over $90, but that is not true, it is only if you use a certain # of minutes.

Why can't we get a break from VZW?

Why do you need a break from Verizon? Right now with your plan if you aren't going over your minutes than family and friends won't help you. is it just the appeal of having something new?

I just received some info on that plan in the mail the other day. I assumed it was because I changed my monthly plan to the 1400 min unlimited texted plan.(I have teenagers, need I say more! LOL) I had no idea they had a "family & friends" plan. I haven't looked into yet tho but I was thinking the "verizon" calls are still "in calling/texting" so the family & friends would be to those on other carriers.

All of my friends and family already have Verizon, but because of the rate I got 2 years ago, dropping my minutes would actually cost me $10 more a month unless I wanted to go down to 700. Bleh.

If you go over your minutes, Verizon will let you go change your plan and back-date it to the billing cycle starting date. Therefore, you don't have to pay $0.35 per minute. One time, I was on a 450 minute plan and used like 1050 minutes. I almost fainted when my bill came out. They charged me $0.45 per minute on overages which was 270 (600 minutes over at $0.45 per minute). I called VZW as soon as I received my bill and they said they can change my plan to 1350 minute plan, backdate it to the beginning of the billing cycle, and charge me for the new plan and credit back all the overage charges.

So you may want to lower your plan and see how it goes. The lowest plan does not qualify for Family and Friends feature but you still get UNLIMITED IN-CALLING which is Mobile-to-Mobile between VZW lines. If you have some family that you talk to very much who is not on VZW, you may want to pay a little more so you can qualify for the Friends and Family feature.

To tell you the truth, I don't think your calling plan is expensive but it's the data feature that's expensive. $30 per month per line...

The friends and family plan is a brand new plan that allows you to add upto 10 numbers that they will exclude from your overall minutes usage. These numbers can include landlines and mobiles on other networks. They just activated this and I just configured it for my account online.
