In response to an article that I read about extending battery life by closing applications. The article stated to press and hold the menu button to see the current open applications. My phone shows the following icons

    blackberry Messenger
    Phone
    Home Screen
    Browser
    Messengers

I have tried everything to close these programs but it seems that they are not open and therefore nothing to close. Are these Icons always visible regardless and I cannot in fact close them or am I missing something.

I did have a couple of other programs (icons) open and I was able to close those. Any help would be appreciated

Browser, home, msgs, phone, + bb msgr if u have, appear in switcher even if apps r closed--easy access.

Note: Options > screen/keyboard > lower backlight brightness helps w/battery life.

The apps you are showing when you press the BB menu button are always showing as open so they can function. They cannot be turned off. As I write this I have drained my battery until phone shut off. Then I will recharge. This should reset memory on battery and improve battery life. Try it, it might just work.

Lithium ion batteries have NO memory like older batteries do. Heat/cold is the only issue with them.
