I have searched the forum and I cant figure out how to clear the event log. I have installed log maid but my memory still leaks can someone please teach me how to clear it manually. thanks in advance

So i read a post regarding the option of memory cleaning does this clear the event log aswell? sorry for the silly question I am new to this thanks for any advice

Just to slighty deviate from this thread... i thought i was getting bad memory leakage from somewhere on the phone then a friend of mine over here suggested trying these settings to help with memory and im consistantly seeing around 40mb at all times now whereas i was going down to 12 sometimes

k thanks I still cant figure out tthe event log thing. I have read that you hold down the 123 button unlock then hit the / twice but nothing comes up

ok thanks i got it now so is it normal to have about 30 mb because i hear of people have like 40+ just wondering

As long as you are above 25MB you are ok.. Some people have removed their visual voice mail, sample pics, etc to gain more memory..

U can also manually disable each item from logging as well.
From the home screen
hit menu show keyboard "/"/
u will get menu clear log.
Then after that u can do options;
it will allow you to disable the events being logged. Schools of thought from the pros on this site they say the event logger always runs. That I cannot dispute.
But logic to me dictates if the events aren't being logged it should help some even though event log is running.

event log clearing helps a bit if you do it regularly, but hiding does nothing.

clearing the event log only gives you ~.1MB of free memory. It is not the cause of the memory leak.

Exactly. The log doesn't hold that much information and clearing it is really most helpful when trying to isolate/recreate specific problems
