HI I was trying to login to my yahoo messenger on my Storm and it act like it didn't want to connect so I did a battery pull and tried to restart my phone and "Error 523" came on so I hit the reset button like it said. I waited and it came up again and again and again. So I pulled the battery out for like 6 hours, then put it back in then it happened again.

The 523 error is a java error telling you that one of your system processes has stopped. The quickest solution is to just reload the OS back onto your device.

To install or upgrade your OS you should get 3 things downloaded and installed on your PC.

Desktop Manager. Get v4.6 with no media manager from here https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22

CrackMem from the link in my signature. Please download and install it and then read the Help file. It will really help you as it has a step-by-step guide to upgrading.

The OS that you are searching for. To find the OS, look in http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/ or in the Sticky at the top of the relevant device forum on CrackBerry. You can also obtain this from your carrier from here http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support...load_sites.jsp. Remove all other OS installations from your PC.

This link http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/prop...ocedure-53359/ Procedure will help answer any questions about the upgrade process.

The whole thing takes about an hour and there is a part where the phone just sits there for a looooong time doing aparently nothing. It is working though, so be patient.

Help will be available here if you hit trouble.

Wouldnt it be better to use DM 4.7 because I have a Storm? And on step 7 where I have to use JL_Cmdr to wipe it, I posted something in the 83XX device section about how my device says 507 and it could never be fixed. I dont want to get my Storm in the same situation.

DM 4.7 will cause you more problems than 4.6.

CrackMem will wipe the phone just like JL_Cmder

JVM 507 simply means that there is no OS on the phone. It is easy to recover from there PROVIDED that the phone hardware works.

Read the CrackMem Help file. I wrote it for support situations like this.

How because when I tried to just downgrade my OS it said Loading applications but the loading bar showed nothing for a long time and the phone just had a blank white screen. So I just unplugged it because it was taking like 45 minutes just for that and it wasnt going any where.

I cannot promise because I have not seen the phone or, your PC.

I have used the procedure in the CrackMem Help file numerous times and it works. CrackMem has been downoaded over 7000 times and there are few complaints.

If you run Vista then you need to follow the documented additional installation steps.

I do not know what caused your phone to fail and thus I cannot be sure that we can get it back for you. I understand about not buying another phone, I really do.

Here is a guide that Rooster wrote to help you gain more memorry using CrackMem http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/ne...memory-142376/

I have to go out for an hour but I will be back later. Please PM me if you wish.
