An unlocked Storm from Verizon is not compatible with T-Mobile`s 3G period! An unlocked Storm will only get EDGE with TMO. This is not even a debate.

yea, that just translates to:
"yes, we have a problem with some storms, but not all of them."
we already knew that
It's all Storms period. Even my Euroversion
But I wonder why exactly that is. The world phone means just that, it doesnt discriminate against data/voice...its f-ing WORLD! lol
in specific, they said that they know the 9530's, the 9550's, and the 9520's are having issues registering. My account looks great, the BIS/BES services are added, it just won't add my SUB ID.
I've never even heard of using a subid or where I can find it, but..ok!
Certain 3G bands are built into the phones hardware. If it doesn't match a providers band frequency, it won't work. Like a key that doesn't fit into a lock. World phone just refers to that fact that it has both CDMA and GSM capabilities. As far as us not having BB plans... C'mon. What sense does that make? We all have had our BlackBerry devices long before this situation happened... It has to be either t-mobile or rim. This isn't something that just sprung up magically. Someone is @ fault.
possibly the result of some clowns that reset everyone BB Plans to regular Smartphone's?
or possible people who we're working with regular smartphone plans before now must specify they are using the 8800 and get the B.I.S due to an update they did?
if this happened to everyone generally at the same time, it was a change on the network. People didn't update their phones at the same times or do anything else at the same time...the network changed at the same time is what could have happened and it just requires things to be re set the right way.
i wonder how many people actually called up T-Mobile and did exactly what I said..
Never tell them your using a Storm.
Oh believe me, i just chewed someone's azz out. Tomorrow I get sent to loyalty, and they either give me what I want, or DROID here I come.
People let us understand one thing right now. Our unlocked Storms were working with the T-Mobile's network before. We all lost data at about the same time. Something somewhere has changed.
crackfinder; it was the network that changed. Their network isn't talking to our phones, and while they say they're working on a fix, all research in motion seemed to be doing is passing the buck, much the same for tmobile. I don't think verizon would be gutsy enough to use RIM's servers to black ball any and all unlocked phones... if word got out, can you imagine the media circus that would ensue???
Which is why I am firmly standing by my theory of they changed something on the network and everyone must call T-Mob and do exactly what I said to say to them.
Most of you all shouldn't need to do the other things like APN and HRT. HRT is auto and we're not chumps, we know about APN
I don't disagree. Actually if the FCC got a hold of this, there would be **** to pay if intentional. It is a remote possibility that T-Mobile realizes that there is a problem, however they do not know how to fix it or what it exactly is yet.
Maybe they lost a portion of the network and when they went to backups some accounts were deleted incomplete or they did some kinda of service upgrade and it was tested with thier available supported phones and somehow our storms are incompatible?

I was having a problem with my email not working. I called Verizon and it isn't a BB issue the rep had me resend my service books and do a battery pull and all is working fine now.
well I logged into my tmobile account online and selected BB 8800 but now I can't access my email service books from the site cuz it tells me "We apologize, there was an error trying to access the service. Please click here to try again" I've done this 3 times on the site and 2 times through my handheld through email setup and it tells me the same thing over and over...previously i had BB 9700 selected and I had no problems editing my email through the site or handheld...even if I could not receive my email serice books when requested...but at least they where there...now they are completelt gone
All i know is i have a $200 brick sitting here and i cant figure out why? and im powerless at this point to fix it....im also running the same ver .591 that one guy said hes running with a storm and he just recieved a new sim and everything is fine so? Maybe his will go down soon once hes on the network for a bit? And i cant even use Johns phone as a reference here really because its a non US phone so? Im just going to wait and hope they fix it soon! From what ive seen here the comments about a network issue outweigh the possibilty of a conspiracy and they will get it fixed because they are going to lose customers and that is going to mean a financial loss! and any smart corp. wont let that happen!!
and the most logical and smartest answers of the day go to the past few posts over the past 5 minutes. lol
Even though my phone is euro, im on the same freq's right? same reason I can't use 3g just like you guys cant. I have nearly the same software as everyone else. Hardware should be exactly the same. The only thing different between vodafone and verizon version I think would be the preloaded software.
So going back to the current talk of the Storm Town...its safe to all agree on the problem is something that was changed on the network and now every phone must be dealt with manually.
Well you were lucky you could have your service books sent ota cause i get nothing when i click that, it says sent but they never send because im disconected from the bis and can only put generic service books on from my pc!
what if all of you redo everything from step 1, reset your end completly so that you can rule out the fact that....
If everyone who was working with everything before a change in the network somehow all got affected, would it be safe to say that anything that could have possible be changed IN your phones be removed by uninstalling everything Blackberry on your computer, reinstalling BB DM and reinstalling the software you want then reloading your phone, be fixed?
That would eliminate ANY AND ALL probablity of operator error for 1, but for 2, eliminate the possibility of maybe a bad file did get sent out to everyone who was properly setup on the network before.
so i just borrowed my moms blackberry pearl...gonna pop my sim card in there and see if I get EDGE on it
you should get it.
Guarantee you will.
lol...wtf am I thinking.
I'm in the Army, I work with people all damn day that have different kinds of BB's on every network possible. I'll check out everyone who has a BB Storm or Storm 2 tomorrow and post my findings. Although, some ppl I work with are too dumb to do cool things like this and I can bet that not a single person even has an unlocked phone.
****, I was the first one to unlock my iPhone. Then it became a pandemic!
