Whenever I download anything (and maybe elsewhere, too), I get the checkbox to "Edit Permissions". I'm new to Blackberry and I don't see this with every download on my PC...so I'm not sure what to do. Leave it unchecked (and, I assume, accept the defaults?)? Or do you all typically change some settings? Pls advise.

depends on what you are loading. If you know what the program it is then you will usualy OK it as the program may or may not function properly. Like some prgrams integrate with your address book, if you bloack it then it will not work and may crash
