• EDGE means that the phone is fully connected to the data network and is able to use the internet.
• edge means that the phone is detecting the data network but is unable to make use of its features becuse:
  • the signal is too weak
  • there is no data-plan in place. If this happens, you will never see EDGE.
  • you are roaming and thre is no agreement between the roaaming carrier and your own
• The TCP/IP APN settings should be blank for normal internet and email BIS use. This is also true if you use the default browser. If you use a different browser e.g. BOLT that does not use the internet via blackberry.net then you need to fill the fields in the TCP/IP APN form. If you use TetherBerry you will also need to do this.
• APN setting can be found on this page Opera Mini Connection Help T-Mobile USA settings are:
  
  APN wap.voicestream.com.
  Also for T-Mobile BlackBerry
  DNS 216.155.175.40
  DNS 216.155.175.41
  Proxy Address 216.155.165.50
  Port 8080

wiped my device, installed .167 deleted everything in folder installed 7.99c to .167 folder, deleted vender, ran app loader but it just comes up with apps to install no OS...whats wrong? oh and not i just installed 4.7.0.167 to my computer deleted vender and its the same thing, no OS wants to load.....so i have to us DM to install .148 b4 i goto work.

ok, got DM working right. installed the hybrid 7.99c and i never saw EDGE, it was edge the whole time. so back down to .75 which is the best for me so far.

im on .230, and the first few hours it woudl go edge/EDGE ever few minutes, but now it is holding EDGE 90% of the time

Ok. First of all, I don't understang why in the first 2 pages of this thread nobody told you black on white : .148 DOES NOT HOLD EDGE!!! Verizon messed up the GSM radio files on purpose. Like P.T. Says, "they are garbage". So this explanation should have been at the top of the thread, and shame on those who talk when obvious they have no ideea about this issue. Second, before u try any hybrid, try installing the 4.7.0.75, I sell Storms on Ebay for a year and all my units ship to my GSM customers with .75 installed. Then, if you want more, and you really know what you are doing, install a hybrid. Get the 4.7.075 from the frontpage at index

if i didnt have to goto work i would use .230 it works great for me untill i goto work - no circuit - but .75 has been the best so far, yes its slow as **** but i never see edge, its always EDGE and signal is very strong. 7.99c was as bad as .148 i never saw edge...but like you said every phone is different and towers.

so the hybrid 7.99c does not work. i dont get it. some guys say its working perfect with solid EDGE. whats wrong?

maybe you have to blank APN setting, but i know some apps need APN setting to tmo.

ya for me it was worse then .148. never had edge. im using 4.7.0.75 and i have had edge at all. But i cant find .75 to download so i can try the radio swap....so if anybody has 4.7.0.75 can you give me the link please. the OS sucks so bad but the radio is kick ***.....for me

it doesnt matter what os you want to install as long as you replace the radio file with .90 there is a crackberry forum containing this all ready it is called How To: Use the Radio code from one OS build in another

i had EDGE for couple weeks , and now i cant get EDGE for more then 5 sec
