i doesn't matter but keep in mind that Li-Ion battery have a number of charge cycles before they **** the bed. so if you charge it from 50% to 100% one night and do the same the next night then you have consumed 1 charge cycle
I hear li-ion batterys dont like to be charged mid discharge
Li-ion batteries do not suffer from "memory effect" like some types of NiCd batteries that gradually lose their maximum energy capacity if they are repeatedly recharged after being only partially discharged.
I charge every time I'm near a charger as I constantly use my storm. However, I'm interested in how many charge cycles can be expected with stock battery.
As others have mentioned, Li-Ion batteries do not hold a memory like batteries of old. In fact, it is not good for them to be discharged completely, this will actually kill 'em (although I suspect that this is taken into consideration by RIM, and is monitored by the circuit in the phone). You're actually better off charging often. However, as gdoggmil04 mentioned, they do only last so long... typically 2-3 years, depending on how long they sit on a shelf waiting to be sold.
Agreed, charge as you require and need. The nice thing with the storm ( as mentioned ) the pearl did it as well, as it trys to not let the battery go completely dead, i was extremely hard on my pearl and the battery, sometimes i would forget about it over night and it would be completely dead, did this alot, battery still strong as you can imagine.
I usually charge it when I'm near a charger. Even if it's at 80%, I still let it charge since I'm always on it and not sure when I'll have a charger available.
