any way my ear speaker broke on my storm so they sent me a new one in the mail.........

the differences are
my older one which is only a month old. i can whoble the screen around there is a gap aroound it not big but big enff

the new pretty much no gap cant whoble it.....

old one is a tad bit harder to press ( just a tad ) i kind of like how the new one is tho it seems i can type better that way

color on the new one seems a bit lighter the icon color is just not the same

and lastly with the back batt. cover removed the data strip that u can see in the lower right corner is a diffrent color ( old is brownish and new is gold ish)

do i have a referb or something??? cuz the new one just feels better! alot better the quality just seems great!!

That is how mine is too. I have a new storm, but it is my second one. I love the feel of this one a lot better.

All replacement black berry phones come in cardbord box (it cuts down cost) Verizon told me they are not sending refurb phones on the storm at this point? I to have recieved a replacement and agree with the feel is much better on the screen.

Brown cardboard box = new Storm set aside as a replacement device.

White cardboard box = refurbished model. (EDIT: it will also say "CLNR" -- certified like new replacement)

OP: you don't have a "different storm." Every detail you have mentioned is consistent with the variations in build that the users on this board have documented for months. It is simply hit or miss whether your old or new Storm will exhibit any one or all of these characteristics.

FYI.....Any replacements the cell provider sends you is a refurb. You will almost never get a brand new one. This is true for most electronic products on the market.

Longtime lurker here... total newbie. I'm a relative youngster but haven't had a Blackberry since I was 22 in the dot.com crash and it was more like a pager. Anyway, got replacement phone today in brown box. It was FUBAR. I called the company... and yes it was a "certified like new" job. I'm still within my 30 days. After I went to a superior they called the VZ store I bought it at. The rep said he does so many returns he forgot to request a new one instead of a replacement. Very long story short -- I'm about to head their and get my new one out of the box. Refurbs are in play gentlepeople.

I must be the one in the million that is not having issues. My screen is good, it clicks where it should, but I am questioning the gap between the screen and the plastic casing. I have to say, there is a gap. Not having dust issues thus far, however.

If you screen protect and silicone case that baby up, does it make a difference ?
