Cracked Screen
So I was getting dropped off at my apartment tonight and I had the phone in my lap. I got out of the car and the phone hit the ground and the screen cracked. The main impact was right at the red end call button and the cracks propogated over the entire screen.
There is no damage to the screen itself. Instead it looks like there is a plastic layer above the screen that got cracked. There are no damaged pixels.
What should I do?

There are a threads here about people replacing the glass (aka digitizer). If you feel brave enough you can do the repair yourself for about $30. If you don't feel like doing it yourself your next step will be to do an insurance claim or try to buy a new or used phone off eBay, which I think will run you around $350 for a new device. You might be able to sell your broken one (if the ESN is clear) to recoup some of the cost of a new device.
