I had a Verizon technical support person tell me that the Storm was designed to handle a maximum of 1000 contacts. Is that true?

I just put over 12,000 contacts on by wife's phone. Of course this may also be a result of the type of contact manager database see works with but it certainly is more than 1,000.

As far as I know, there is no limit other than the phones available memory.

Is anyone with 1000+ contacts having a lot of problems with random re-booting? The Verizon Tech Support person suggested that this may be the reason for my 6-8+ random re-boots per day.

i have thousands but thats because i save every business i ever get a call from or call.

that way if annoying amex guy trying to sell some annoying financial service calls again, i know who it is.

for this reason the ULTIMATE app would be an app (only would work on gsm right now) tht looks up who is calling doing a reverse lookup on 411.com and display it on your phone with the caller id info.

so awesome that would be, but wouldnt work on evdo, cause it would require data while the phone was going.

you know what would be awesome... if the blackberry identified the area code of an unknown caller.

one feature i loved on the iphone was that it showed what city and state that an area code was in. loved it.

It sure did. Sometimes I would get a call from a phone # that i didnt recognize. When I went into the call log, under the # showed the city and state. I had a Sprint phone that did this too a few years back. I think all phones should have it.
