For some reason today, all of my contacts on my BB got messed up. I didn't sync anything or upgrade anything. I texted my wife at work, and noticed that when I received a text, it said it was from my bank, but it was my wife's message. So, very confused, I went into my contacts folder and noticed that I have several contacts that got multiplied and some that seem to be morphed into others. I have no idea how this happen. I have it set up on Desktop Manager to sync to my phone through MS Outlook, but when I tried to, it made a noise and didn't go through with the process. I have tried a battery pull and anything else I can think of, but nothing has worked thus far. If you can help me, I'd be very grateful! Thanks in advance!

once u get it fixed, start using the contacts sync app from Verizon, from time to time, to have a backup available of your contact data. It's called Backup Assistant

Agreed with above, but I personally use the mIQ service from BestBuy.

It, not only, backs up your contacts, but also, pictures, messages, etc. etc. etc. I would highly recommend it.

What made a noise? The BB or the computer? what type of noise was it? An audible beep or more of a physical hardware (grinding of gears) sound?

If your Outlook contacts are still good, I'd probably delete my BB contacts and just re-sync them over if possible. (May want to do a DM backup first).

Using a secondary backup for your contacts is good advice as well one you get it working again.

The noise was from my computer and it was an audible beep. But normally it goes physically through my 200 some contacts one by one, but it didn't do that this time, and it didn't give me a message saying there was an error. It just made a noise and went back to the previous screen. I will try your advice and delete my contacts on my BB. Good call. Thank you all!
