Go to this URL: Cisco: Visual Networking Index Free Application and follow the instructions to install the speed test app. I'm not sure what the Storm is capable of speed-wise, but I averaged out 81 kbps in Rochester MN. Anyone have better results?
Update: Just tried it again, averaged 139 kbps this time.
be cool if there was away to graph this thread by user by kps so we can see at a glance were we stand.
I have a suggestion, if we are all comfortable with stating our location, lets state our location see if there is a trend. also network, i will post again for an example
I wish I could get my stupid desktop manager to install this. Keeps telling me that there is not applications that are compatible with my device when use the browse button in application loader.
Any clues?
** I think its cause I'm trying to do this on my work computer and not my home comp. I can't even perform a back up here due to some administrator issues. Its the way we have our network set up. Still haven't figured that one out. I'll just try again later when I get home.**

All inside my house over a 20 minute period. Nice, full strength EVDO signal.
I sent this to a buddy with an iPhone. He's in L.A. and got 580 at the airport. Is he pulling my chain? I'm surprised he could double mine and wonder if there is some sort of defense. I get tired of being owned.

Not bad for EVDO. It would always be nice to see it higher. Anyone out there in the UK try this on an HSPDA network? It would be nice to compare speeds. Any Rogers people out there to compare to? Let's see who actually has the fastest network in Canada, seeing as Bell and Rogers both advertise that they do.
