Charging through USB
- Does it show the charging symbol on the battery on your phone? It usually takes longer via USB for me as well but I dont know about 45 minutes and not seeing a difference...04-03-10 10:54 AMLike 0
- SlcCorradoBlackBerryUSB is not a sufficient charging source. Unfortunately It rarely gives you much of a charge.

Where the computer will not be in charge of shutting power off or down due to in activity. Not all usb ports have the same properties because of where they draw their power from. Laptop turn ports off fast

My desktop will charge with any port in less than two hours.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com04-04-10 10:13 AMLike 0 - My going theory is that charging through USB destroys my battery power management until I install or wipe an OS on my phone.
Everytime after I load an OS, my battery life is awesome. After I'm at work and have my phone "fully charged" through the USB (after what feels like 5 hours), my battery will completely drain within 5 hours of being idle...
I've loaded .607 and haven't put it on the USB yet and my battery lasts over 12 hours of my "normal" use...

Contributing factor could be plugging it in for the length of time; I use Bluetooth to sideload data from my phone to PC to avoid temp charging, if I'm upgrading/downgrading then I plug it in via cable and leave it plugged in till fully charged. Afterwards I do any necessary battery pulls, and when I use the wall charger I shut it off. Yes - I'm anal about my charging methods :P

04-04-10 05:26 PMLike 0 - I'll have to take a look at my own power settings now that I've read this thread. I noticed the laptop did not give much of a charge and I never really paid attention to the desktop as I rarely have my blackberry plugged into the desktop. I charge with a cradle through the wall charger and I get a good charge through that. I did notice that the car charger did not charge as well as the wall charger.04-04-10 09:42 PMLike 0
- What also is an issue is go to options then memory. Make sure in your settings you have mtp mode ON and mass storage ON and auto enable to prompt. Now when you plug in it will ask would you like to enable mass storage? If you press yes it will not charge. And if you press no it will. Hope that helps. Give it a try and let me know what happens
