Does it matter if u use a non BB charger to charge the battery.............someone told me that if it wasn't a BB charger it would burn up thE battery...I laughed at first but them I remembered how greedy this phone companies are.

You will get a lot of different answers. For me, non OEM chargers dont work well. IMO, if you have a $400+ device, why not use a charger designed specifically for it?

The main reason I am asking is b/c my BB charger wiLl not work anymore.

The OEM BlackBerry charger has a standard micro USB connector, but it puts out more power than the USB specs. If your BB battery is very low - under 10% - a standard spec source, including your computer's USB source, won't recharge it.
Otherwise, you should be fine.
I just bought an OEM charger from Amazon for about six bucks, including free shipping, to stuff into my shaving kit as a travel spare.
