Hi,

Is it possible without 3rd party app to change the color of the LED for particular alerts? I see the app blackberry alerts can do it. Seems there is all sorts of sweet colors the LED can be:

blue, green, red, yellow, cyan, purple, white ...

This is so cool didn't realize that our LED had this capability!!!

So if there is no way to change LED color w/o the blackberry alerts program my question is ... how many people are using it? Satisfied? Any issues? thanks a bunch!

You need the app to be able to use this feature.

the reason any color can be created is because there are 3 leds... red, green, and blue.

why don't you just use the app and then hide it so it doesn't have to show up on your screen

I could never get alerts to work right for me on my curve or my bold. I'm not sure its been uodated for the storm either.

BB Alerts. Find it in the OTA Apps stickied thread, or linked in the Popular Posts thread.

You get a week trial I believe. It's $12.99 at Handango, can be had for a few dollars less if you google search for a coupon code. Takes up a small bit of memory but really doesn't have any negative impact.

Would be great if it could be updated so I can customize IM or Facebook alerts. Right now you can color code email, SMS/MMS, PIN, missed calls, voicemail and I think a couple other things all with separate colors and tweak the timing of the lights.

Great to wake up or come back to my phone and know if it blinks blue every 5 seconds I've missed an SMS or if it's green I have new email.

You get the ROYGBIV colors of the rainbow and can configure your own set of 3 custom colors using 0-255 RGB values.

hmm, this may be worth investing into. Anyone know if facebook and the IM apps have been added to the customizable list? I'd love to have a color coded LED letting me know what I've missed. When I'm at work I can't always grab my phone after it buzzes so it'd be really nice to just glance over and get an idea of what I've been sent.

I love the program because it allpws me to glance at my storm and know what kind of message I have. Adding facebook would a great update. Support has been great. Bbymelsoftware.com has a free trial.

i like it because it can be set to flash for missed calls and voicemail or sms....so, for the few hours I might not have my storm on my belt, I can look at it and see if I missed anything.

I use BerryBuzz for changing LED colours.
Its about half the price.
And it gives you control over timer for the light to stop flashing.
"Never" is one option

But it does not work properly if you already have BBLight installed.
Just delete it.
