Goodgrief. I would like to do it, but what info is buried in 250+ posts?

Anybody got a grip on the basic info, issues, and lessons learned?

Why is this considered better than the biz-card trick. (which really helps!)

    Thanks.

    Ok, I'll bite. What's BOTARD?

What do you mean by search? Search for a clear synopsis of the 250 posts? I am not looking for sporadic comments in 10 different directions. I was looking for a clear synopsis from someone who did this.

    Thanks. BOTARD?

Just reading a couple end pages in the thread will sum it up nicely. Do it, find a happy medium between too tight and too loose.

mfoster7 - It seems just about everyone who tried the fix has experienced a great improvement in the click. A few reported some SIM card issues but that seemed to go away after turning the screws in a tad or doing a battery pull.

Thats what I got from all the posts.

Basically, you need a T6 torx and a pin.

Using the pin GENTLY remove the sticker covering the other T6 screw. Give both screws a couple partial turns loosening the screws. Test the screen. Retighten or loosen the screws further until satisfied with the screen.

Replace the sticker, put back the battery door and enjoy.

It works, did it and will never go back - much better now! Should be a sticky though

Yes, this option is much better IMO.
The card trick worked ok, but not nearly as good as this.

I have done both the paper or business card stock fix and the Torx screw (6 sided star bit) fix. In my Opinion the Torx screw fix is the best. I would like to add that after you back off the screws a bit, (I started with half turns and worked my way up) replace the battery and the back between each click test. It makes a difference when the battery is in place. I ended up at about 1 full turn (loosen) on each screw. Each phone will be slightly different depending on how far the screw was tightened at the factory. If I were a little more adventurous, I would do a tear down of the screen assembly to see how these set screws work and what they are affecting when you turn them. Anyone feel like tackling this? A video tear down would be sweet!
