Browser Service Books
Hi All
I'm having some issues with VF's satnav software and am 99.9% sure the problem lies with it using the BB browser - or at least routing data traffic back via BES - and a corporate IT policy (I'm on BES) that blocks some sites. I got the program to work OK before I ran the BES activation.
I have BIS browser access and this has not been disabled by our SysAdmin, and web traffic seems to bypass the BES as I can access the blocked sites (this forum for one) when I switch browser settings to Internet Browser instead of Blackberry Browser.
Questions: can I safely delete the BES related browser service book and still leave myself with BIS browsing? Also, would not having the BES browser service book cause any other problems?
Many thanks!

My IT Policy pushes back settings once a day. Your employer may be different, but yours probably most likely refreshes at some interval. If you delete the BES service book, it will get pushed back at that time. That said, all you're risking by deleting it is the time you'd potentially be out of service before it was restored. You might shorten that time by contacting your IT admins. It's important that you not mess with your BES settings without prior coordination with IT. You want them on your side if you cause a problem. You don't want to get in trouble with your security folks.
