Holding any of the keys just gives you a menu for the same letters with accents.

    No it doesnt.

While in text messaging it only brings up a larger a, no accents.

    These are the letters that, when hovered over, give you accents and/or symbols; E, R, T, Y,U, I, O, P, A, S, D, C, N, M, and the period.

Uh, yes it does. First of all, read the freaking instruction manual. Second of all, if you set your Storm for English only and delete the other languages at the initial set up, some of the accents aren't there any more.

i think you guys are saying two different things that are correct:

if you hold the click down it capitalizes the letter

if you hold your finger over a letter without clicking it brings up the accents

So you are both right...now shake hands

Mine does it too. Not sure if the purpose is to visually confirm your letter selection like an iPhone, but if that's the purpose, it is way too slow to be useful.

Vjdup is correct. Compose an SMS. When you hover over a in the address field, it brings up the accent menu but when you switch to the message, it's only the a.
    Weird.

And upon further examination, it does it with all the vowels plus c, d and n. I would assume no accents because I don't think many non smartphones have them maybe? No clue as to why those letters only.

Not talking about caps. Don't click, just hover. You'll see it.
