Hi! nEWBIE HERE. On my way back to the Philippines and I'm planning to buy a Blackberry Storm as a present... I heard rumors that it isn't fully compatible with the Philippines GSM network... it's supposedly having issues sending text messages.

Is there any truth to this???

    Thank you.

    Globe Telecom.

It doesn't make sense to me that the phone itself wouldn't work... I don't think it's a network issue since it's a world phone... maybe the guy has a defective phone, not sure... but it has something to do with texting capabilities and other features.

Maybe the BB limits the use of the phone outside the intended region??? That would suck!

Your best bet is to phone that company and ask for sure I can't see why it wouldn't work (google search turned up no know issues)

    Europe/Asia Pacific: 900MHz GSM/GPRS networks

    Yep... just emailed Globe telecom...

best bet though is to find a Blackberry Storm user in the Philippines in Crackberry... doesn't seem to be any.
