DJMC, i've only had my BB for about a week and I'm debating the same thing....hopefully more people will respond with recommendations and experiences; not that I don't trust what you say Sooks.
I personally use .99 for the stability and haven't really noticed any slowness except for the blue light on the keyboard when I'm typing quickly. Except for that, I have been running .99 without any problems since it was released 139 hours ago.

.90 was only a step above .86 which was buggy as **** and unstable.
Sure .90 is SLIGHTLY faster but whats faster, waiting for your phone to reboot (avg time 4-10 minutes) after your super fast os crashes or a stable os that crashes a lot less (.99)
With these OS YMMV but most people seem to prefer .99 and almost all say it is more stable than .90 and it is still faster and better than .75
For me is .99 just make sure you pull batt a few times to get the os running smooth. If you don't like it you could go back to .75
Good point...i did notice it took about 2 batt pulls soon after install to get it running smoothly and even did a 3rd a little later. After that it was all gravy. At first I was like, this is almost slower then .75 lol but it got a lot faster after a couple batt pulls and like anything im sure this varies from phone to phone.

Same here it took like 5-10 pulls until got the OS working great.
so is it more stable than .75? how many times did it crash on you compared to the .75. and why do we need to "pull" in order for it to work somewhat... and "pull" again...
.99 was the fastest for me, but the bugs encountered were unbearable. Random reboots, sound issues, frozen screens, etc...
I downgraded to .90. The eye candy on .99 is not worth the hassle. Most of the time my application memory doesn't dip below 35 mb, even after a couple days of use. With .99, it was hitting the low teens. My battery wouldn't last a full day either with .99.

.90 started to crash the following day after install then kept doing it over and over. I would get a txt/mms and it would reboot but most of the time by it self. As for working better ofter a few pulls I really don't know
Hmmmmmm......I don't have the issue alot of users have with .90. I have had a freeze, but never a rebooted at all. Its been stable for me. Confusing, but it is what it is.
Call it a hunch, but I think the reason people are having issues may be the update Core Applications, that shows up in DM, after you update to .90. Without paying attention I allowed DM to update my Core Applications, which caused my storm to have major issues. Did a wipe, reloaded .90, and as I wrote above, been working great ever since.
