So are the Best Buy stands the same as the Verizon ones? Can I do the same discount with a 2 year plan as I would be able to with a normal upgrade at a Verizon branch?

not unless u get a really good sales rep there/manager who will match for you. they are authorized resellers, not actual VZW stores (like the ones in circuit city)

Since there is at least a possibility that tele sales, or online may be available before the store, does one really want to commit to putting a deposit at Best Buy. Not saying, just asking.

i have no idea how it works with preorders, but the buzz is we get them the same day verizon does, since they love best buy so much

Any word on the non contract price? I just renewed my VZ contract about 6 months ago when I got my Curve, but man I REALLY want a Storm now.

So if I go out to Best Buy tomorrow put my down payment down, I can come in the day the Storm is released by VZW and get it for the same retail price as it would be at a Corporate store?

I tried last year to use my NE2 at Best Buy, and they told me they could not do that. Seemed like they could only open new accounts or sell at retail price.

Grrrrr! This sucks, I hope I can get one on launch day then. I don't mind waiting in line as long as I will be able to receive one on the day it releases. I mean after all I'm already locked into a contract and will be paying another 150-300 for a phone. You would think they would love my business.

The actual phone hardware isn't the moneymaker for Verizon, unfortunately. They'd love your business much more if you weren't already locked in.

Oh I know that the contracts are there money makers, I tried calling today to see what kind of options I had but I guess I didn't get a very good rep considering she told me my upgrade date and just about hung up on me ahha.

you're still a verizon customer...I'm not sure I understand the question.. Best buy just sells the phones, they aren't their own phone company..

yea but the question i guess i was trying to ask was, does it matter if i go through best buy or the store i normally go to? can best buy still pull up my existing account and contract? i just dont want to have to buy out my contract with the verizon corporate store and open a new one through best buy.
