I am going to head back to VZW because of the BOGO starting tomorrow and was wondering which OS leak are many users considering the best? I had the Storm when it first came out, but went back to the iPhone and have been missing my berry ever since. Thanks in advance for everyone help!
.99 is definitely the best overall due to it being really stable... but the performance of .90 (when it was locking up, rebooting, giving the "Memory Card Instered" loop of lockups) was a LOT better.
If they can combine the two and get the performance of .90 with the stability of .99, I would be a happy camper.
Unless your okay dealing with the slower typing/typing lag of .99 coupled with some freezing issues with BBM/AIM and some have reported memory leaks(although i havent noticed it).
If you want a 100% functional blackbery your best bet is still .75 or .76
.99 is something to install if you want to tinker and deal with some ups and downs (slower typing, better accelerometer, etc.)
As a side, i know that i'm a newb on crackberry but i had an 8830 since summer of 07 so i'm in no way new to blackberries and have been severely spoiled by that device, it was 100% reliable and i accidently flung it at a cement wall and it didnt break. Amazing phone... The storm is way cooler and more enjoyable to play with...but as a phone...and as a bbm device...the 8830 hands down still kicks the crap out of the storm in terms of speed and reliability. I did perhaps 10 battery pulls in almost two years of owning it.
